Financial Aid

Students at Hobe Sound Bible College have a wide range of financial aid available to them based on financial need, merit, or both. Many HSBC students are able to graduate debt free through using the resources from the Financial Aid office. Aid comes in the form of Institutional Aid, Federal and State Aid, Veteran’s Benefits, and Loans. To the side are helpful links to the various forms of aid available with in-depth information
and steps for application.

Financial Aid Policies:

Each financial aid document received by Hobe Sound Bible College is reviewed and a follow-up letter is sent to you if any additional information is needed. Students who have their application materials completed early will receive priority processing for financial aid assistance.

To be eligible to apply for most financial assistance programs, a student must:

• Apply for admission to Hobe Sound Bible College.
• Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
• Be making satisfactory progress.
• Be registered with the Selective Service if required to register.
• Not be in default on a loan or owe a repayment on a previous financial assistance award received at any institution.

NOTE: Most financial assistance programs are not automatically renewable. You must apply annually. Financial assistance packets for the fall are available after January 1.

How Do I Continue To Receive Financial Aid?
In order to maintain eligibility for federal and state financial aid programs, a student must be making satisfactory academic progress. The student must maintain a specified grade point average (GPA) as well as proceed through the program at a pace leading to completion of a degree within a specified time frame. Satisfactory progress is measured at the end of each year.

If a student fails to meet any of the criteria in a particular year, the student will be placed on probation until he/she meets the minimum requirements. A student in this category may receive financial aid for a probationary year, but must meet the stated minimum grade requirement and complete enough work to meet the cumulative amount of work for that academic year as defined in the credit completion information in the college catalog. If after the second year the student fails to meet one or more of the requirements, he/she is not eligible for financial aid until he/she meets the minimum requirements.

If I Withdraw, What Is the Refund Policy?

A student withdrawing from Hobe Sound Bible College may be eligible for a percentage refund of previously paid charges. The Hobe Sound Bible College catalog outlines how refunds are determined. The official withdrawal date will determine the amount of any refund.

For students who have received financial assistance under a federal program, the portion remaining after Hobe Sound Bible College deducts the amount it has retained under its refund policy will be returned to the federal programs in compliance with federal regulations. The amount of the student’s award that will be returned to the federal financial assistance programs or lending institution is determined by federal regulations.

Funds that must be repaid to federal financial assistance programs will be distributed first to outstanding balances on Federal Family Education Loans, then to the PELL Grant.
